Hi, I’m Rachel! Welcome to my little labor of love/side project. I’ve been a Cleveland resident for almost a decade now. It’s an exciting time to be a part of this city and I’m proud to be a witness of it. Cleveland is a city that loves to eat and drink, and I love that about this city!

Similar to the booming culinary scene in Cleveland, i’ve begun coming into my own as a home cook over the past few years. I inherited a love of cooking from my Grandma, and to this day I love spending time with her talking about food and recipes. I love to challenge myself in the kitchen and try new dishes, but i’ve begun seeing that many cooking blogs are getting a little too complicated for the everyday chef. Ain’t nobody got time for 25 ingredient dinners when you’ve worked a 9-5 job and need to feed your man dinner on a Tuesday, am I right?

That being said, one of my favorite things to do is to cook a nice slow dinner on a Sunday evening and have friends over for some good food, wine, and conversation. Lately when i’ve told people about my love of the casual dinner party (emphasis on CASUAL—sometimes I even wear sweatpants—sorry mom!), people are in disbelief or are under the impression that “cooking is hard”. I firmly believe that cooking should never be hard.

On a more personal note, you’ll often hear me mention the two main men in my life on this blog, my fiancé, Lyle, and my dog, Abel. They’re the two great loves of my life and my partners in crime when exploring this city and trying out new dishes. When i’m not in the kitchen, you’ll likely find me hiking with my boys, watching Friends or a true crime doc, wedding planning (Fall 2017!!) or trying out some new obscure craft/art (currently trying out calligraphy!!).

I hope that you’ll take the time out of your busy schedules to try out a recipe or two, and would love to hear any feedback or suggestions you might have. If you’re ever traveling to the Cleveland area, i’m always up for giving recommendations, so don’t be shy.
